Euro London Appointments is currently recruiting for a leading Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) vendor. They are currently looking for an IT Support Specialist with initial experience supporting an internal company and their desktop infrastructure, to join them this Spring.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast growing market leader in their sector in 2023. You would play a vital role within the organisation, supporting end-users throughout the French and EMEA business who will have diverse needs for support on a wide-range of technologies (see below)

Responsibilities overview

*Supporting the Technical Services operations in the EU area.
*Carrying out activities including monitoring to ensure that the network, PCs , servers and systems are operating efficiently.
*Monitoring and reducing the risk of security breaches, virus and malware threats.
*Deployment and support of PCs.
*This includes but is not limited to :

-Monitoring event logs.
-Installation /maintenance of operating system patches.
-Maintaining the PC inventory and dispatching laptops and equipment to new employees.
-Searching for virus and malware threats.
-Ensuring all systems are up to date on virus definitions.

Main job objectives (in order of importance)

*Supporting the Technical Services operations across the EU.
*Tasks /activities for monitoring and ensuring the network, PCs, servers and systems are operating efficiently.
*Tasks/activities to monitor and reduce the risk of security breaches, viruses and malware.
*Deployment and support of PCs.

Day to day responsibilities

*Technical support for software ( Outlook, SharePoint).
*Installation, configuration and troubleshooting on desktop client server applications, desktop operating systems, client email, Internet Explorer web access, printer functionality and drivers, Audio and Visual support and other proprietary Operational , Administrative or Branch software specific to the branch office.
*Providing basic network administration, including , but not limited to, maintaining user accounts , installing upgrades and patches, setting up network printers.
*Handling 1st line support for all helpdesk tickets, coordinating escalations when needed.
*Software and hardware support, documentation and end-user training.
*Assisting other Technical Services members when managing templates for Virtual Machines. This will include creating, upgrading and retiring templates as needed.
*Performing maintenance on servers in the Kolkata and US AWS datacentres. This includes systems logging, AV, DLP, Windows updates inspection and remediation, as well periodic reboots of infrastructure machines.
*Assisting the team with special projects as needed.
Skills, experience and qualifications necessary

*A BSc ( licence) in Computer Science or similar with at least one previous experience in technical support, ideally for internal end-users.
*Knowledgeable in Networking, Windows Operating Systems, Virtual Machines, PC support and helpdesk support.
*Good knowledge of security and data integrity practices and using AWS.
*Strong problem-solving skills.
*Excellent communications skills , a friendly , approachable attitude is essential in the position for working with a wide range of internal end-users and business stakeholders.
*Fluent or near fluent in English and ideally in French.
*Able to work most weekdays from our client's office in the North West of Paris ( 92 )
