To ensure a high quality of service support for their product range of biochemistry related products and future innovation products our client is looking for a Product Service specialist with a talent for logical problem solving to join their team aimed at providing specific service and support input into product development and R&D. This in turn will then enhance the serviceability and reliability of these products leading to greater retention and renewal rates.


*Providing specialist assistance to both field and helpdesk teams on products focused on Bioengineering.
*Undertaking occasional on-site visits across EMEA (if required) including within the UK. Occasional travel for training engineers outside of Europe.
*Being involved in the initial installation of the product range.
*Acting as a focal point for field service team escalations relating to specialist products.
*Providing specialist customer support and service feedback for R&D team product development and modifications.
*Working with Sales and Support teams to develop service products, service contract content and other service procedures.
*Liaising with relevant third party suppliers and customers.
*Develops and plays a key role in the training programme for the Field Service department.
*Creates and develops training materials for specialist products.
*Documents and disseminates product service materials such as recommended parts, tools, calibration routines and service engineer training workshops.
*Represents customer support at product development and quality meetings.
*Delivers 'hands on' service engineer training.

Skills and experience required

*A Science or Engineering graduate. A Biochemistry type degree is ideal but any degree relating to Science or Engineering can be considered.
*The key to the position is strong logical and problem solving skills combined with strong communications skills for working with several departments cross-functionally.
*Able to instil confidence in listeners and forge trust with clients.
*Practical experience on any kind of laboratory instrumentation or scientific devices is preferred but not essential if you have the right logical skills to learn ( training provided).
*Working knowledge of optics or digital image capture is an advantage.
*Experience writing and producing technical documentation.
*Fluent written and spoken English ideally with a second European language.
*Good listening skills and ability to create confidence with key stakeholders internally and externally.
*Confident PC User on Windows and Office 365.

Responsibilities : *To identify and understand application areas for our client's laser diffraction systems and analytical imaging technology. * To provide feedback on those applications into the laser diffraction/analytical imaging program of customers' needs and requirements that result from the various customer interactions and encountered problems; * To provide sales support by visiting sales outlets and customers, both in the UK and overseas as required and to diligently document and circulate reports on such visits; * Creating product support material (application notes, technical notes, Brainsharks, WebEx, articles, blogs, FAQ's and material for use on the Web Site) to improve the communication to the market and our client's wider organization in support of diffraction products business objectives; * To prepare and provide lectures, publish scientific papers and present seminars at an advanced level to our subsidiaries, agents, distributors, direct sales team and the end-users; *Liaison with 3rd party suppliers in order to resolve customer applications to support sales success. *To help with the alpha and beta testing of hardware and software *To develop and provide specialist training, advice and guidance to customers and sales organisations on particle characterization relating to the best use of our client's laser diffraction products. * To assist the solving of technical problems and issues with our customers and products; * To work closely with the relevant product managers and territory sales specialists to ensure they are aware of latest applications and product/software capabilities; * To work in close liaison with the Applications Supervisor and relevant Applications Specialists to ensure that analysis of laser diffraction samples are carried out in a timely fashion. Entry Qualifications * A Post Doctorate with a relevant physical science degree (Chemistry , Materials Sciences or Physics for example) and/or demonstrable practical experience in the field of particle characterization. Experience in laser diffraction and/or image analysis is desirable. Skills & Experience * A proven ability at problem solving; with strong logical and analytical skills. * Excellent communication skills coupled with an ability to instil confidence in the receiver.
